Current Electrical Services Helps Manufacturing Facilities Reduce Downtime & Improve Efficiency

Updated: Feb 24, 2023

Manufacturers require an electrical services partner who is responsive, reliable, flexible and experienced. In a competitive manufacturing market where lead times are tight and labor shortages are limiting production time, the risk of having a machine down or an emergency could cost a company injured employees, thousands of dollars, and lost contracts.

Current Electrical Services has built long-term relationships with manufacturers around Northeast Wisconsin, enabling these organizations to thrive by reducing downtime and creating a safe and efficient work environment for employees. While these organizations are different in terms of their product offering – a paint manufacturer, a contract manufacturer of metal parts, and a plastic machining company, to name a few – all of them exhibit similar needs that Current Electrical Services has been able to meet and exceed.

Some of these needs range from regular service calls, to moving equipment, to finding efficiencies when rerouting power or bringing in additional power sources as facilities grow. “We work with our clients to help them make decisions on what their most cost-effective options are,” explains Jesse Metko, Owner of Current Electrical Services. “It’s not always as easy as running a cable – it’s the planning and engineering behind making sure we’re predicting costs and visualizing how changes will be made.” For one client, this means helping them put a portion of their facility into a 3D model to analyze what the new area will look like and how to best service power sensitive machines. For another, it means covering day-to-day troubleshooting and setting up new equipment in a way that is most efficient for their labor force.

Sometimes emergency situations occur in high safety and security facilities, and Current Electrical Services is prepared to meet those demands as well. “There are instances when transformers fail or an unsafe condition presents itself ” shares Joe Vincent, Superintendent at Current. “It’s our top priority to ensure that everyone is safe, and that equipment is up and running ASAP.” In these situations, when one alarm goes off, it shuts down the entire plant. “We understand the seriousness of a single alarm – when your plant is down you’re not making money. Companies partner with Current because we show up immediately. They are used to contractors saying, ‘we’ll get there when we can.’ For us, we drop everything to get the work done.”

When asked why manufacturers have switched from other electrical service providers to Current, Vincent says that often times other service providers are unreliable or have processes that differ from how the client’s engineers want the job done.

“Our clients choose Current because we’re consistent, timely, and consultative,” says Vincent. “When I go to a customer’s facility, we always ask what they’re looking for. If they don’t have a clue, we will provide them options based on our years of experience. But if the client has a way they prefer us to work, we’ll collaborate with them and ensure their engineering team is happy.”

Another differentiator for why manufacturers work with Current Electrical is the team’s combination of expertise and partnership. “When I’m there, I don’t just work,” states Vincent. “It’s important to me to get to know the people we serve and ask about their families, hobbies, and their job. We seek to be true partners.”

Current’s team is a diverse group with diverse talents that are focused on helping the customer succeed. This is why all technicians complete annual trainings to keep up with codes and manufacturing trends. “We care about our clients and the service we provide – our technicians have experience in PLCs and automation. They understand how to troubleshoot controllers and power issues, and are highly safety oriented to best serve manufacturers,” says Metko.
